I saved my favorite quote for last. When Steve and I first got married, I typed this quote and had it laminated. I put it on our fridge in our very first apartment and have had it hanging on the fridge ever since. Whenever we've moved, it's one of the first things I put up. I read it often and it always gives me a little boost - a little guideline - something I agree whole-heartedly with. It's a ratty, tacky, dirty magnet - but I love it.

There are a couple different versions of this quote, but this is my favorite one. And this is my blog. And I'll do what I want.

"To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." --Ralph Waldo Emerson
